Agencies and placements

Keep placements moving. Make payroll rewarding.

Placements change, and your payroll communication has to keep up. Bring your assignment patterns, handover needs and worker questions to a conversation with YTS, then look at how a points rewards program could fit alongside the payroll arrangements you agree.

Assignments that keep changing

Agencies rarely have a static workforce. Placements start, extend and finish, and rates or hours can shift mid-assignment. A payroll arrangement needs a clear way to pass those changes on, and a shared understanding of cut-offs before each pay run. Describe how your assignments usually work in your enquiry, so the discussion deals with real patterns rather than a tidy version of how placements flow.

  • How assignments start, extend and end
  • How rate or hours changes reach payroll
  • Cut-off points before a pay run
  • Who in the agency submits worker details
  • How urgent corrections are raised

Responsibilities and worker information

Agencies hold a lot of sensitive worker information, and a first enquiry isn’t the place to send it. Instead, talk about who collects what, how information is passed on at onboarding, and who answers worker questions about pay. Work out too how the agency and YTS describe their roles to workers, so nobody’s unsure who to contact. Check obligations specific to your arrangement with your own advisers.

  • What worker information is needed and when
  • Who collects it and how it is passed on
  • Who answers worker pay questions
  • How roles are described to candidates
  • Where your adviser should review obligations

Rewards for the people you place

A points program could give your workers a reason to stay engaged between and across placements, but only if the terms fit how agency work actually runs. Ask how eligibility is treated when someone moves between assignments or has a gap, how points are confirmed to a worker and who answers reward questions. Agree how the program is explained to candidates so it’s accurate and consultants don’t oversell it.

  • Eligibility across gaps and new placements
  • How workers see and confirm their points
  • Who handles reward questions from workers
  • How consultants should describe the program
  • What happens when a worker stops placements

Your questions, answered.

More questions
Can an agency use YTS for its placed workers?

That depends on the arrangement being discussed. Describe your agency, the types of assignments and how workers are engaged in an enquiry, and what’s covered will be agreed directly with YTS before any onboarding starts.

Should I send candidate details in my enquiry?

No. Please keep the first message general. Candidate or worker personal information, bank details and tax file numbers shouldn’t be sent in a first contact, and onboarding information is handled separately.

Do points follow a worker between assignments?

This website doesn’t set that rule. It’s a question to ask and to have answered in the agreed terms, including what happens to points during gaps between placements or when a worker leaves.
